Today is the last weekday for our summer students who are only staying for the Summer Dance Experience's first 2-week session. Hard to believe tomorrow is the midpoint of the entire month! Everything has been going well today, even as Mercyhurst is hosting one of its Freshman Orientations. The cafeteria was very crowded at lunch and the dancers did a great job adjusting to the number of people!
This afternoon, the students are showing the repertoire on which they have been working the past two weeks with Mr. Gleason, Carla, Teena, and Mark. We have had the danceSpace doors open all day and visitors are permitted to come in and watch at their leisure, which is very exciting for the dancers. We also spent the day acquiring photo and video documentation of the different classes, which will be coming to the blog very soon.
Tomorrow, the students will have their world dance first with Ms. Carla in salsa/Latin movement and a ballet class with Sarah Purvis. Then we will say goodbye to some dancers and those who are staying will enjoy a much needed, relaxing weekend on campus!
